Sharon lives in Phoenxiville, PA, & met Julie when Sharon’s son, Jason Bowman, and Julie dated in college (Jason wrote Vegas Baby! for Joolee’s Forty). In 1995 Julie was working for Granite Angels, a backpacking company specifically for women, and knew that Sharon liked to travel. When visiting Sharon, Julie asked her if she would like to take Granite Angels’  trip to Nepal to trek in the Himalayas. The answer was an emphatic YES. That trip strengthed Sharon’s friendship with Julie and created a new one with Julie’s mother, Jennie. Four years later Sharon traveled with Jennie to Slovakia (where Julie was teaching at an international school)  to travel in Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic and Austria with Julie. In 2001 Julie met Sharon’s Alaskan cruise ship in Juneau & spent part of the day with her. In 2005 Sharon went to Alaska with Jennie, stayed with Julie’s sister Jeanette in Anchorage, and flew  to Bethel with them to visit Julie in Napakiak and travel with her to a few places in that area.

Sharon is retired & loves it. She spends as much time as possible with her granddaughters; loves visiting national parks and being in nature whether walking, biking, or struggling to identify birds; traveling; writing and reading.
