I wish for World Peas for my birthday. Wasabi Peas, Frozen Peas, Snap Peas…all kinds…even as a last resort Canned World Peas.
HAPPY Birthday Joolee! I have so enJOYed getting to know you in Antarctica. Thank you for your sweet friendship and gracious gift of teaching yoga to us on the ice. You are loved and admired greatly, always. May your life continue to be one adventure after another. Dream BIG and go for it!
Jai Bhagwan,
Jess
Mmmm, Jess you always arrive with burst of happy warmth…thank you so much! OK, I have one more b-day wish…I wish you were here! (here is currently Crested Butte) Where are you? Picturing your lovely scorpion, Joolz
YOU! Are going to be in MacOps, no? How exciting?!?! Can’t wait to hug you, and catch up on your SE AK experience! Thanks for being so wonderful, Jess! oxox
We wish you many more days at The Lurie B&B, because we miss you soo much!
Happy 40th my dear! We love you!
Cathy and Neal Lurie
Oh, Lovely Luries! We miss you, too! I’m proud to be turning 40 within a month of someone of the caliber of Neal Lurie! Give Zander a wee squeeze from us, and thanks again for the hospitality…this morning was the trial run of the new AT setup, and it was stellar, and I owe it all to you (appreciating the Larry the Bootfitter tip). We love you! xooxo
My three wishes:
1. I wish Joolee were hanging out with me right now in Slovenia.
2. But since I can’t have that, I’m going to wish for a little miniature Joolee to have with me at all times no matter where I am in the world.
3. I wish for everyone else to also have their very own little mini Joolee.
Joolee! I love reading all of these stories about you! I wish I could think of something clever to include. However, I do want to say that you have been such a great friend and I’m so glad we met all those years ago on the Ice. I’m so lucky to have such a positive person like you in my life. You truly are one in a million!
I hope you have a FANTASTIC birthday! Wish I could be there to celebrate!
Love ya,
Katie
Katie Leum, zdravo!
What do you mean ‘something clever’? A mini Joolee to carry around in your pocket isn’t clever? Remember those boxes that kids had for Star Wars characters? What if we each had one of those that slid into our briefcase, which we could fill with our mini peops, and then just think…you have a problem, and it might be a problem for Mom, so you get out your carrying case of mini loved ones, and consult Mom. OR, it might be a situation where you’re really wondering “What would Katie do?” So you pull out your mini Katie. OR, it might be a shopping question, so you reach in and get your mini Bilby. I love it, Katie! It’s a brilliant idea! You are so wonderful! And so missed! I am grateful for YOU! xoxoxo, jra
Joolee
Julie,
I wish you a happy 40th– I won’t be too far behind to join you as a big 40-year-old! I had all good intentions to try to write a story for this project and find a great old picture but time has slipped me by. Come to think of it, I might have a picture somewhere from our days in Sunday School, probably circa 4th grade. Or a picture of us decorating Easter eggs for a Key Club project. I’m sure there is a graduation picture in our blue robes at Mitchell Field. Oh, what blasts from the past. Congratulations and may your next 40 be as good as the first 40!
CHAD! Hello! What a fabulous surprise to hear from youuu…we’re overdue for a good Logan Christmas party so we can catch up! I love your little icon photo, too! Aah, the blue robes….I guess they’ll be no more with the new school setup, eh? Please give Cheryl and your parents all hugs from me. What are YOUR plans for 40?!?! Enquiring minds want to know… 🙂 Thanks so much for writing…Huge hugs,
Joolee
Jooleeeeee!
Our traveling made it difficult to put together a story in time for the submissions, but we have so many fond memories of fun times with you – on the band room loft sofa, in AFRTS, listening to slow songs, playing yahtzee, watching movies, making fun of Ralph, playing $25 pyramid, running Armitage, camping in Hope and so much more. I am particularly grateful for your warm welcome and your willingness to listen at just about any time. It’s always great to join the cone of silence.
We wish you the very, very best birthday and a wonderful trip to France. I wish we could meet you, but we will still be in the Netherlands then.
Sending beaucoup hugs and smiles!
We love you!
Peaches and the Dutchie
Yippeeeeee!

I hope you have another 40 years of amazing memories and adventures! If I’m lucky I’ll join you on one or two! Hope this is your best birthday yet!! Piles of love! xoxox
Janae
Thank youuuu, Janae…I think this might be the first time I saw your comment, as we were just starting our ski journey the day you wrote, and it’s been craziness since returning to the states! How are you? Yes, that Staybridge meeting was serendipitous…you, me, and our lil BBJ! I think of our hut trip very fondly, and I look forward to our next adventure together…love you! Joolz
Like when you walked into Thorns Showcase Lounge in Seward and you, Natalie, the weird guy Thomas and I spent the night drinking and the morning hiking up to the Harding Icefield, then running/sliding down rock and snow from it, I hope we have many more encounters like that across the world. Happy Birthday from Asia!!
Big merci, John! How are things in Hong Kong? We miss you here…had a weekend in Seward at the end of April, and it just wasn’t the same without you :O).
“A very merry unbirthday to you, to you.
(Who me?)
Yes you!
(Oh me!)
Let’s all congratulate us with another cup of tea
A very merry unbirthday to you, to you!”
Wait… wait… wait. Wrong day! }{appy birthday, Joolz. May you have your wishes on all of your unbirthdays and today.
Loveth ~ Carey
Thanks for the ditty, Carey! It is April 10 in France right now, so it is most absolutely timely! Hope you had an eggy Easter! Enormous hugs coming you way, Joolz

Annie Bo
Gracias, Bo! Think I can wish your little self up to Alaska? That’d be a good trick..would love to see you, and your lovely kiddos! Mioau!
Joolee-
Hope you had a great birthday, wherever you celebrated it. And knowing the travellers that you and Bill are, that could be anywhere in the world. I think Bill met his match in the adventure department when he met you. Please do look us up when you’re in Colorado again. Keep in touch.
Your fellow transplants from PA.
Jeff and Joan Ward
Jeff, what a surprise! Thanks for posting! We celebrated my birthday between Chamonix and Argentiere, so it was real good. We’re deep in the throes of our summer guiding in Alaska, but both send our love and hugs to youuuu! :O)
JooLee…. Happy belated birthday little girl.. I grew up with your mother and also went to school with that girl. You are an amazing young lady and I hope you keep on going just like that little energizer battery. PS – this site is greaaaat.
Margy?!? Really?!? How cool that you wrote! Thanks for the flattering comments (funny, many people compare Genevieve with the energizer bunny, heheh). Hope your summer is going well…take care of my mom in my absence, ok? 🙂
This is the coolest site! I hope you had an amazing birthday. I loved looking at all your pictures and stories. Bill must be such an amazing guy too for putting this together. I hope I can see you next time you are on East Coast!!
2012 is a long time ago.. wow. hi Joolee.
