You’d have to be a force of nature to be Joolee’s mom, and Jennie McCardle doesn’t disappoint. When she isn’t painting birds or scenes of central Pennsylvania, she might be putting her skills as a master gardener to obvious purpose on the property where she and Harv live, just across Ferguson Valley from the farm where Joolee grew up.
There are rumors that she is a retired teacher, but we’re not sure how to apply the word retirement to someone who has so much zest and energy. Look for her in Alaska with her grandsons, on ski vacations to Colorado, or even jetsetting to Syndey to visit Harv’s daughter Libby, but don’t blink.
That’s my mom! All that, and pretty darn cute, too. An avid bicycler and cross-country skier, Ms. Gregg Aurand McCardle is always willing to lend a hand, or lend an ear, or sometimes even lend an elbow to anybody in need. She should get a salary for her PR work as well. She can carry one metric ton’s worth of groceries in one trip, and she has a beautiful smile.
Thanks guys! I always wanted to be a “cool” mom/stepmom to our “far-away kids”. You make me sound like I “sort of” made it! Thanks! Just hope to be able to keep up following all of you! This trip through Jooleesforty has been so much fun! Thanks for all the hours of work to make it all happen, Bill.
